Another option is to use a 24Vdc supply which is usually safer than a 230V supply. This is commonly fitted using a transformer that converts your mains power supply.

• Size of gate - The size of your gate will impact how much it costs. For example, a large gate will be more expensive than a small gate.

• Type of gate - Whether your gate is a sliding or swinging gate will affect the amount you pay. Sliding gates are usually more expensive than swinging gates.

• Materials used - Electric gates are available in a range of materials, each with a different price. As a rough guide, PVC gates are great if you’re on a budget, while wrought iron gates are a luxury investment.

• Extra features - Adding an intercom or camera to your gates will increase the amount you pay.
