  John was as responsive as he could be but could have communicated his availability better. I had to call to find out if he would show up. I think transparency around pricing would have been appreciated - there was no transparency of costs of labour and materials. For two mornings’ work, £1500 for two gutters and some small remedial work seemed steep. I had to get it done quickly so there wasn’t time to seek further quotes; I think this was exploited. On that basis, I would not use again.

  I was so impressed with Harrison’s confidence that I actually said “I love you”!! He was just so experienced and knew his trade that I instantly knew he would be the perfect choice. He made everything that seemed complicated with other suppliers, easy. Great guy, great service, and awesome supply.

  Stopped cold bridging

  Clive successfully stopped a persistent damp problem in our bedroom by putting kingspan in the eaves. It created a bridge between external cold and internal warm temperatures. Only criticism is he charged a day for a couple of hours work. Other than that, he’s always a pleasure to deal with.

  Reparation if removed firestacks

  Clive is clearly a great all rounder. One of the few tradesman that has a repertoire of broad and varied experience; a very competent one-stop shop. He did a great job. He even lent us his ladders (at an inconvenience to himself) for a separate job we needed to get done. We will definitely use Clive again.

  The job took half the time and half the effort from when it was originally assessed ... thus was very expensive in my opinion. I think some adjustment could have been made from this perspective. The price was also not made clear whether it was +VAT or VAT inclusive which didn't manage my expectations when it came to settling the bill.
