  When arranging work to fix a leaky tap, I had to pre-pay £120 for an hour's labour to assess the problem. Any parts would be paid for in addition. I was contacted by the plumber to advise the additional charge for labour and parts would be £285 +VAT as I needed a new tap and it would take longer than the hour. The plumber arrived at 9am and left by 10am (within the first hour already paid). Son sent me photo of the tap which is basic. Total cost = £470 for a basic tap replaced within an hour. Contacted Homefix, told I would be contacted by the support team- 8 hrs later still waiting..
