  Cluster newel repair and creation of custom skirting board profile

  We called Steve in to undertake repairs to our early victorian staircase and to create a custom skirting board profile to match the original 1840s board. The staircase case repair was to fix a very wobbly cluster newel, refix some loose spindles and to make good a couple of sections of veneer. Fixing the newel was a tricky job but Steve was able to do it and was careful to retain the original character of the staircase case. He created a profile for the replacement skirting board which is a really good match to the original. He is a skilled craftsman who takes pride in his work.

  Damp proofing basement walls.

  Whilst renovating a basement room I uncovered a damp issue. Alan visited my house and gave a range of options for fixing it. He was promptly provided a competitve quote and was able to adjust his schedule to fit my work in so that it didn't impact my project timeline. The work was carried out to an excellent standard to the agreed schedule and cost.

  Hard landscaping

  Graeme undertook some hard landscaping in a city garden which involved: 1. Rebuilding steps to a basement entrance, creating a patio at base of steps and building retaining walls for terraced beds up to ground level. 2. Creating a footpath alongside driveway. 3. Removal of large areas of tarmac to create flowerbeds and grass areas. 4. Building dwarf walls for flowerbeds and laying paving for new sitting areas. It was a big job in a tight space. We are very pleased with the outcome. Graeme was easy to deal with and kept us informed. He and his team take pride in their work. We recommend him.
