  He came on time and put up a ladder to inspect the job more closely. He then offered to do the job immediately, which I accepted, and the price was very reasonable. He didn't try to make the job bigger than it needed to be, as some other contractors have done.

  He came out at the appointed time, went up on a ladder to look at the work, and then offered to do it straight away within his minimum charge fee. He didn't try to make it into a bigger job than it really was.

  Our big back wall had two long cracks in it. They stitched across them with helicoils before rendering and then pebbledashing. Then the inside of that wall had to be re-rendered, plastered and painted. The work was carried out to a very high standard

  Re-attach hip tiles and new hip irons

  The original price was for fastening back hip tiles that had become dangerous. The house dates back to 1873, and the rusted remains of old hip irons were discovered - so the workmen bought and fitted some new ones, which matched those on the other side of the house. The additional charge was very modest.
