  Eclipse chosen to fit new lights & oven. Choice based on reviews here. Work seen by summary sent by Eclipse when hrs politely queried as in excess of hrs spent at house- I recorded hrs on site meticulously EEGL use "approximately" for visits AND claim some of time that was over double hrs at house was for "sourcing the materials needed". AVOID I got no money back Overcharged. Response: "19/12/2025 – Approximately 1 hour (initial visit) 04/02/2026 – Approximately 6 hours sourcing the materials needed, carrying out the chasing and installation of switches 04/03/2026 – Approximately 2 hou..."

  Remove dangerous hanging large branch at risk of damaging property and dangerous to road users

       just now My husband and I cannot rate Jack and his team highly enough. Jack and his team have done work for us before and always been excellent. On Sunday we found that a branch had fallen from a tree and was hanging by a thread and as a very big branch, when it went completely, would cause damage to property and be dangerous to road users. Contacted Jack and on Monday- so the next day- he came to view work needed for that tree and also another tree leaning over a fence from a wood. He quoted and the next morning all works complete and tidied away safely. Best team around- can't rat

  This job was cutting down a dead cooking apple tree, but they cut down large Ash tree on B road too

  Jack is a very efficient business man who undercuts other quotes on big jobs and completes the jobs really well. We used him for big Ash tree with die back on B road and he cost half as much as others and completed work perfectly. Jack and his men just cut down a big cooking apple tree that was next to a flint wall in our garden. He caused no damage, saved my rose growing on it and tidied up well. He also cut as a favour another dead tree at no extra cost. My husband and I think Jack is great at felling trees safely. All men wear Hi-Viz vests and hard hats and we feel safe around them.

  Large house with difficult to access windows.

  Two guys came, as I said I didn't want power water as that goes inside our home, as old windows that don't seal well. Ladder access is hard too. Have had many dreadful cleaners. Guys were very pleasant and cleaned windows well. Price was very reasonable too. As it is a big house, many people have come and quoted twice as much as they did, as assume we are foolish and made of money. Very pleased and highly recommend.

  EICR for rental property required before new tenant moved in

  David at MK Samuels very aware that we required the EICR by a date before new tenant moved in on 25/9/20 but did not provide it and then went away so we had to pay to get work and certificate and pay twice. He emailed before the job on 8/9/20 "To include all testing and certificates" but did not send the certificate EICR and so we had to pay another company to do that before the tenants moved in and pay MK Samuels bill too.

  Found source of leak causing damage to ceiling

  Very polite gentleman who came 4 hours after we telephoned. Giánnis was very careful to protect all the furniture and carpet as he had to remove a lot of ceiling plaster to visualise our plumbing.Giánnis was then very thorough in ensuring that he had located the correct place that was leaking - a gap behind the shower control valve that had been left when our tile was retiled due to a previous leak. He ensured it was not from the basin now the loo. He has advised us to let it all to dry out before we can have the area replastered.

  Dealt with 2 wasp nests and vermin infestation.

  Very polite, very careful with my extreme wish to keep it all clean and tidy, always cleaned up after himself and tried to keep our home clean- took shoes off etc; very efficient at finding places where vermin were, as difficult old and large house with many nooks and crannies etc; found major problem secondary to builders renovation work with possible entry point where tap pipes come in to kitchen and ordered special mesh to block that possible entry point for vermin. His Dad is an excellent plumber too and helped us out with a plumbing problem.

  John has done a lot of work for me since January 2012 when I met him as we have had quite a few trees down and varying work done. I did use some else on one occasion after a storm as the quote was less and regretted it massively and have gone back to John- who always does a good job, is polite, courteous, efficient, helpful and tidies up well. I think his quotes are actually very reasonable. I cannot fault him. This last job, he gave me a quote and when it was less time than he thought. He charged me less. What can I say! Use him if you need a very professional job. I am not easily pleased either!

  Cut down decaying ash tree that had telephone cables caught up in it and it was on the edge of the road

  I had tried to get someone to quote for me on the tree for about 6 months and everyone let me down. Then someone came to give me a quote but I never heard any more and I had to chase them and they were slow to reply. I had a letter in my post box, contacted John, he came and gave me a competitive price and knocked it down when we said we would tidy up the waste and logs. He was very quick to respond and very courteous. It was a pleasure to do business with him and I will use his services again and recommend to all my friends.
