  Kitchen Extractor Fan Repair

  Integrated extractor fan and hob downlights suddenly failed. Text conversation with Sam, who gave a call-out, diagnosis and repair quote, and arranged a suitable date to assess problem. He was punctual, resolved the problem and explained what had caused the failure. It was a simple problem for him to rectify - but would have been an impossible task for me to deal with safely. He is very personable, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for any electrical work. Thanks Sam.

  Bathroom - Replacing sealant

  Kyle repaired and replaced sealant around both bath and basin in bathroom and cloakroom. Both jobs were completed as required and Kyle made sure there was no working materials and dust left behind. I would be happy to recommend this company for any tiling work - large or small .

  Repair and rehanging garden gate

  The hinges on my wrought iron garden gate had rusted and failed. I was concerned Advanced Gate Solutions might not take on relatively small jobs, but they came, repaired side brickwork, sourced new hinges and latch, readjusted and rehung the gate. The workmen involved were tidy and courteous and I would happily recommend them for any similar works, large or small. Many thanks.

  Reducing height and spread of trees in garden.

  The team from Bailey Bros. were happy to take time to discuss with me exactly how much I wanted the trees reduced by. They were trees that had grown too large for a small garden, so had to be reduced in height and spread. The job was carried out cheerfully and efficiently - all cut off branches were 'chipped' nearby and courtyard cleared of leaves and smaller bits. A job well done, quickly and efficiently. I will be happy to use them, perhaps on an annual basis, to keep these trees in check.

  Checking and then replacing a wash basin pop-up plug which had stuck in the closed position.

  Seb dismantled the pop-up mechanism and cleaned it, but advised it may stick again. We decided a replacement of that part would save time and frustration in the future. Happily he had the necessary part in his van and the work was completed quickly. Seb was on time and worked quickly and efficiently, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for any plumbing work. Thank you, Seb.

  Suspected rats in loft

  Jim very quickly confirmed at least one rat was calling my loft 'home' ! He left poison on a tray for it and was very happy to chat and answer all my questions about rats: their lifestyle, domestic travel habits and this one's eventual demise. Checking around the outside of the house he found an entry point at ground level leading into the cavity wall and he left more poison in the hole. At all times he was happy to answer all my questions and I realised just how essential quick action is - and being in denial that they're up there is not the answer! Highly recommended.

  Unblocking hopper of 2 downpipes, repairing flashing, cement pointing and porch tiles as necessary.

  At the first call out, a very thorough review was made of the blocked downpipes and the source of overflow rainwater leaking in the house, and a price was quoted for the job. The house is 3 storeys and ladders, not expensive scaffolding was used. The work was carried out a few days later and all problems sorted at the price quoted. At all times I was involved in discussions of what was being done and I am very pleased to say the downpipes coped perfectly with the downpour the following day. I would be happy to recommend Mike and his team to anyone looking for a local, professional business.

  To identify and repair leaks from base of fitted toilet and replacement of broken cistern.

  Seb had visited previously to assess the problems, so arrived with all the necessary replacement parts. He worked quickly and efficiently to fit new pipework and to install the new cistern. He completed the job by re-applying sealant around the base of the toilet and the fitted cupboard. He left the bathroom clean and tidy and took away all the damaged materials. Thanks Seb.

  Checking why new replacement light bulbs for cooker hood weren't working.

  An email from Langstone Electrical quickly followed my request on Checkatrade and a phone call just hours after that. After describing the problem, I was very surprised and pleased that he was able to turn within the hour. He quickly identified the problem, repaired it and was gone within 20 mins. I realise this was exceptional service - a request for help received at the just right time for him to quickly assess and repair - but speedy, polite and professional service is not forgotten. 10/10 !
