  New Bathroom and External Waste Pipe

  All credit goes to Michael during this job. We had two separate asbestos cases during the first week of the bathroom renovation, both of which he spotted promptly and we got properly removed by a specialist. Work was delayed as a result, but that was out of his control, and when it’s your family home I’d much rather work with someone who is cautious than someone who would blunder in carelessly. The bathroom was otherwise completed to a great standard, with Michael doing the right balance of implementing our ideas and suggesting his from his experience. Overall really happy with the work.

  Replacing a brick arch, minor repairs and repointing on an exposed brick chimney (internal)

  We recently took the plaster off the chimney stack in our living room as it was falling apart, and then decided that we wanted an exposed brick chimney in that room. Along with other minor repairs, we needed someone to replace a brick archway that had been shoddily put up, and was clearly never intended to be seen. Duka came with his own suggestions from experience which was appreciated, but as we wanted to install a wooden railway sleeper into the chimney as a lintel/mantle, he helped us figure out the best/safest way of setting it up. Very accommodating of your ideas and genuinely nice guy.

  Gave an overview of all our options at each stage of the process, instead of jumping to the most extreme "replace everything" solutions that a lot of contractors have done. Also guaranteed his work afterwards, which was greatly appreciated.
