We are landlords and this job was at one of our properties. We were quoted £200 on what looked like a simple fix. I contacted Karl Thackeray and he said that although the job was more complicated i than we thought it could be done for a lot less and charged us £90 plus VAT. When replacing broken flush on cistern I discovered that the donut seal dodgy for properly and had been covered with silicone to fix. cistern was also leant against wall and not screwed to it. Got back to me straight away and came round quick to assess and quote. They were with us the next week to do the work and informed us of delay in arrival due to traffic. I have worked in the plumbing and heating industry since 2006. I studied for four years at Suffolk college whilst working as an apprentice with a local plumbing and heating firm gaining my level two and three qualification in plumbing and heating, as well as my gas safe qualification.
I started working for myself in 2010. Since then I have taken on two apprentices, (Brandan) who has been with me since 2013 is now fully qualified heating engineer and is carrying out jobs on his own. I also now have (Luke) a new apprentice I am training up to go the same route.
I pride my company on being very neat and tidy in everything we do, the only way I can guarantee this is to train my staff from the beginning. This way I feel I can mould them into my idea of the perfect engineers.
We cover a wide range of work including bathroom installations, boiler breakdowns, servicing, landlord certificates, hot water cylinder replacements, radiator changes, power flushing, leak repairs, and much more.
