    External leak

    Very pleased with the work carried out by Pinpoint trace and access. Had an external leak which United Utilities said was my problem. Steve from Pinpoint traced the leak which was confirmed to be outside my property boundary. A report will be generated by Pinpoint which I can use to get a reimbursement for the excess consumption costs and for the work Pinpoint have performed. Fantastic.

    Very Polite & Efficient

    Superb experience. I had a noisy tap which needed to be replaced. Steve responded to my advert straight away. He agreed a budget. He sent Nick who picked up the parts and replaced the tap within 1 hour. They normally do bigger jobs. I am based in Leicestershire but they came all the way to see me. Steve and Nick were polite and respectful throughout.

    Leak detection and repair

    I wouldn’t recommend this company. They completed the initial repair fine but I was then hit with multiple invoices after I decided to go with my insurer’s builder over them. The work they wanted to carry out was miles apart from what my insurance company found acceptable and, as a result, I’ve been left to pay hundreds of pounds over and above my home insurance policy excess. I wish I hadn’t hired them and would not recommend them to anyone.

    A service you can trust

    Pinpoint's service doesn't come cheap but you're paying for professionals. I contacted them about a suspected leak in my kitchen and they had someone out to me the next working day to check it out. Rob was polite, professional and incredibly helpful; he diagnosed and resolved the issue swiftly, and as promised I received their report within 5 working days. They also talked me through the likely next steps I'd be taking with my insurer. Thoroughly recommend Pinpoint as a reliable company who keep their promises.

    Leaky pipe under the bath.

    I had some water damage that was being caused by a leaky pipe under the bath. Nick came out and was brilliant from start to finish. He arrived just before 8:30 which was the agreed time and he explained everything he was doing every step. He did a thorough investigation and found that the leak was due to a corroded pipe. Nick repaired the pipe with as little mess as possible and also gave me some pointers for other potential issues. Finally he cleaned up any debris afterwards. No expert on price but it felt very reasonable. Really impressed with the service and would definitely recommend.

Pinpoint are a reliable, friendly, family run business. Our established business has been providing a water leak detection service and project management service for over 20 years.


Our highly trained technicians along with our industry specialist equipment, can identify and locate the source of water leaks that plumbers are unable to find. Our technicians are experienced in locating hidden leak sources i.e. leaks in cavity walls, under concrete floors, below floorboards, on underground water supply pipes or other invisible/hard to reach locations. Our technicians are booked for one complete day for each leak investigation.


Our service is not for clients with a minor property leak, dripping taps, leaks under sinks or even visible leaks!

Our aim is to identify the source of the leak, quickly and efficiently, with minimum disruption to the occupier or limited access/invasive work.


We are specialists in the insurance term known as "Trace and Access". We use the latest water leak detection technology to quickly pinpoint the source of a water leak at your home or business. Trace and access is a lot more than just water leak detection. Our certified technicians will not only identify the leak but can also carry out repairs and offer possible solutions to property defects or re-routing options. Our business also works in association with the British damage management association (dealing with damage from water leaks, floor and fire). Our expertise will allow us to estimate and quantify not only the visible property damage, but also the underlining damage caused to both the building structure, and contents following an incident.

Our fast response service means we often attend within 48 hours of call out (subject to availability). Once a water leak has been identified the repair access is created.


Following completion of works, a photographic report evidencing the causation of an "escape of water" will be produced. This document will form the basis for any impending insurance claim.

Pinpoint can prepare all the necessary documentation required, by your insurance company. Pinpoint have been working with insurance companies Nationwide for more than 20 years, we understand the protocol insurance companies expect when making a claim. Our dedicated staff can assist in completing all the daunting paperwork required on a claim. Having the know-how and taking the time to assist policy holders can take away the stress and burden from the homeowner. Our company will liaise with the homeowner to action a plan and schedule of works to suit them in completing not only the damage that is evident to the naked eye, but all the works required to reinstate the property back to its original pre-loss condition.
