  Transformed Our Oak Doors – Excellent Work

  We recently had all 14 of our oak doors sanded and oiled, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The workmanship is excellent — each door has been beautifully restored, with the natural grain of the oak really brought back to life. He was an absolute pleasure to have in the house: very polite, friendly, and respectful of the space throughout the job. Just as importantly, he was completely reliable — turning up on time every day and working efficiently without any fuss. It’s rare to find someone who combines such high-quality craftsmanship with professionalism and a genuinely nice manner

  Phil was recommended to me as a French Polisher by Jake the owner of Stairs and Banisters Crawley, who designed and built a wonderful oak staircase for me. Phil displayed great attention to detail, expertise and patience making sure the new staircase complimented my feature fireplace. He then stripped, renovated and stained the original pitched pine parquet floors, completely transforming them. He has recently returned to make minor repairs and touch up several pieces of antique furniture and is booked in to return to battle with my rosewood dining table. He comes highly recommended!

  Repair to small kitchen shelf in a dresser unit

  We have a 4 year old dresser unit in the kitchen which has a small shelf but we had always avoided putting anything on it because the wood had not been treated properly. They were two ring marks that needed removing, a small nick in the wood that needed filling and a proper varnish needed to be applied. The service we got from Phil was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable and did a brilliant job. I only wish we had contacted him four years ago!

  Refurb of a set of Ercol tables

  Really happy with the magic Phil has performed on a set of tables that are of high sentimental value but that needed a bit of tlc. Phil removed all the watermarks and scuffs and returned them looking perfect (see before and after photos below) for us to keep for another 50 years+ Would recommend Phil’s services

  fantastic refurbishment of mid century table

  Phil did an awesome job to refurbish this danish rosewood table - the main table had lightened significantly compared to the extension leaves so needed to be stripped back, resealed and varnished. And he also talked me through the options at each stage of the work with sensible advice on how dark/light to colour; how glossy or not to go. The difference from start to finish shown in the 2 pictures

  Oak front door and flooring looks like new

  Highly reliable and helpful service from Phil who is obviously a highly experienced professional in his field. His advice was spot on as to what we needed and what he would do when; he was punctual and took great care to make as little mess as possible whilst undertaking the works. We were highly pleased with both the finished front floor and oak parquet door and would certainly use him again!
