  Built-in alcove units

  I want to preface this by saying Carl is polite and clearly passionate about his work, so writing this is uncomfortable. However, we are unhappy with our experience. Breakdown of issues as follows: drawings were referenced but later admitted not to exist; a 1–2 week job took 6+ weeks; repeated mistakes (wrong skirting size/depth); rushed finish due to another job; doors poorly made and units built to wrong height despite agreement. All of this acknowledged and agreed to return. Paid on promise of return by request, now it is 3 months later, no contact or sign of return. Proceed with caution.

  Delay in Job due to bereavement which I was transparent about then you weaponised it to get freebies CAD drawings offered for £25 add on but refused to pay so worked off hand drawings You wanted skirting like for like against my advise, changed at my cost. unit pre made (to correct height) you changed height due to it “not flowing with mantle & fireplace” at my cost. once work completed you spent 20minutes with me looking & then had 24hours to look further all okay and paid apart from 1 hinge adjustment amended in 24hours I have on video,sound only,confirmation how much you like doors + uni

  Carl really cares about the quality of his work, and he’’s done a fantastic job. Not an easy house to work on, yet he’s transformed the look of every room with his craftsmanship. Light weight and solid oak work, we are delighted with the end result.

  What should have been a straightforward job turned out to be tougher job than expected, however Carl took it in his stride and got on with the job in hand and completed the job in good time, he knows his stuff and explained everything throughout. Carl was great to have around, was professional at all times and I would happily employ again.

  Carl Moffatt made a fabulous job of reducing the size of my 40 year old ancient pine bookcase. He was polite, kept in touch regarding the project, and is a very skilled carpenter and joiner. He also fitted my project in speedily, as I am due to move house. I am extremely happy with the whole project.
