Miguel was fantastic - communicating quickly and clearly, very helpful - he came round to look at my broken chair leg, explained the problem and offered to take it away and repair it - ready the next day, with a reasonable fee. Michenuels renovated an oak table for us. Its surface was in a very bad way; it had become 'sticky'. We are extremely pleased with the resurfacing which Michenuels carried out. The table looks like new, and it can now be wiped clean very successfully. They were also very efficient. Arrived on time; managed to take the table apart even though we have lost the handle for it; negotiated return time to suit us. Had vintage Ebony wood chairs needing repair and TCL. Miguel was very professional, knowledgable, an expert about his craft -and honest. Provided a swift and reasonable assesment and quote. As a single lady I am always a bit aware of trades people. I put a post on Checker trader and Miguel was the only one to respond. It was a small job, but I thought there must be a catch here. He turned up on time and was happy smiley with a can-do attitude. I can’t explain what a real profession he is .. I get trades people who think you are a woman and dumb. His work is amazing I am so pleased I can’t rate him enough. He did an amazing job and was again so lovey but respectful. They were helpful, ‘human’ - offered practical advice and did everything they said they were going to do. Arrangements for picking up and dropping off the chest and for payment were easy and the finished article made me very happy indeed. An incredibly neglected and stained chest now looks glowing and in great shape. I like that they share the founding and background of the company on their website too. French Polishing is a wood finishing technique which is used to protect and bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The material used for French polishing is called Shellac, the process for French Polishing is very lengthy and repetitive, and would require the French Polisher to do this by hand, by pouring the French polish into a fad and thinned out with methylated spirits and boiled linseed oil to apply layer by layer, to mainly Post War and Antique Period Furniture and applied to many different types of Hardwoods such as Mahogany, Walnut or Oak.
Our London based French Polishers offer a high quality French Polishing and furniture Restoration and Conservation service, Royal Historic Palaces, Historic Houses, Historic Buildings, Museums, Institutions and Schools, .
We pride ourselves on our years of experience, and depth of knowledge on projects such as Conservation of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings in the UK.
Our dedicated Restorers can complete all projects onetime by sourcing all our Wood Finishing Materials, where we can from Natural Resource and reputable suppliers on budget- relieving all customers of panic and leaving the hard work and stress to us, to full fill all of our customers' Restoration Project requirements, Domestic or Commercial, Old and New.
