  Lock change

  The locksmith no showed on my job. He sent my calls to voicemail and had not advised he would be late, or would not turn up He called me 40 minutes, after the agreed meet time, to advise he was at the property. I wasn't and I wasn't going to drive all the way back to the property. He advised he was late because he had an emergency lockout job to do (Aka, a job that was paying more money). The least he could do was pick up my call, and let me know he would be late/not able to do my job, so I wouldn't be left at the property like a lemon for 30 minutes. Do better.

  Replace gearbox in UPVC door

  Called few mins of posting job. Arrived next day 9:10am. Problem identified quickly. Started work w/o providing quote (as I was told I'd be given on the day), so had to stop him. Tried spare gearbox that didn't fit and left with our gearbox to fetch replacement, leaving us with unlocked door. Was told he'd be back after 2 other jobs. Had to chase; arrived after 5pm (7 hrs later!). Fitted new gearbox, didn't tidy up, and hovered over me until paid online. Was in rush to leave, so was I. Invoice refers to 'signature of satisfied customer', but not impressed. Invoice didn't reflect lower quote.

  Fitting new lock to upvc door

  Arrived on time with tools in hand (although we hadn't agreed a price and that he would do the job). When asked for price, he said there was a call-out charge (which I hadn't expected), cost of the lock and his time plus VAT. Price was a lot more than I expected (over £200) but as there was a call-out charge, it didn't seem worth him not doing the job. Lock changed OK. I got the impression I was his only job that day so he had to make his money on it. All in all, felt I was taken for a ride, but job was done satisfactorily.

  Customer booked a job not a quote. I was upfront with all costs (before starting ) which he seemed happy with. I even gave him a higher security lock for the standard price! And he gave me a 10/10 review! I then left to attend another Job!
