  Work was satisfactory but pricing felt underhand

  The 'quote' seemed reasonable and the work was completed by a very nice young electrician. I was then invoiced for significantly more than the quoted amount. and was told that the original 'quote' had contained text explaining that the quoted figure was in fact an 'estimate' and that I might be charged for 2 hours extra labour. To disguise an estimate as a quote in the small print felt underhand to me. It may be legal, but it doesn't feel fair. I won't be working with this firm again.

The document provided was clearly titled as a quotation that included an estimated duration, and it explicitly stated that the price was based on estimated time on site, with additional labour chargeable if the work exceeded that time.   Installation of replacement electric shower

  To chase surface mounted wires and sockets into the wall.

  Live Line electricians Greg and Tom arrived in good time with loads of kit. This job was to chase surface mounted wiring and sockets into the wall. The cuts in the wall are narrow. The vacuums to collect dust were noisy but effective. The job is done. There wasn't much dust left and clean up was good. They even covered nearby furniture with dust sheets to protect it. Greg tested everything for safety. I know know which one is the cooker circuit and that rather than a ring main, my sockets are on spokes from the fuse board.

  Fitted new sockets and finding fault on the ring
