10 Great quality family business

Job location: SE8Visited the K2 Flooring showroom with a clear budget. Lee and Rose Kemp welcomed us and guided us through the options. Their family business has stayed in the family for generations and their knowledge of carpets showed straight away. They helped us find a carpet within our price point with clear and honest advice. Service stayed smooth from the showroom through to fitting. Delivery arrived with a friendly team. Stuart the fitter helped move furniture and fitted three carpets to a high standard. Clean edges, great finish, and a satisfying service from start to end.10 Very pleased customer

Pre sales service was great - they were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Same for the measuring, and booking in of the fitting which happened very quickly. The carpets we had fitted was very nice too, and appears of good quality. The fitting itself was fine except when the fitter left he informed me one of our doors needed shaving. The door did need shaving, but he had fitted the carpet so that the door could not open at all, nor could it be removed without pulling up the carpet, so we had to pay someone to do that and refit the carpet. The company was extremely helpful in the advice regarding the products that they sell, which made it easier to decide what would be the most suitable for our room. Kevin Karpets Ltd was founded in 1961 by Mr Frederick Kemp, he opened his first shop in Petts Wood. He opened his second branch in Swanley in 1973 and moved to bigger premises in 1976, where they are still trading today. In 1977 our Petts Wood branch sadly closed. In 1971 the current owner Mr Lee Kemp joined his father in the business, taking full control in 1996. Sadly, on the 5th Feb 2018 in his 90th year Mr Frederick Kemp died peacefully in his home. He is survived by his wife Jean and their six children.The company continued to grow and in April 1998 we opened a further branch in West Malling. This branch is still successful and is now run by Paul, he is helped by Samantha. The Head office is at our Swanley Branch which also houses our purpose built warehouse. The Swanley shop is staffed by General Manager Stuart, and he is helped by Peter and Nick, our warehouse is run by Dave. Behind the scenes Lee's wife Rose (the real boss) and their daughter Lisa with the help of Linda keep the boys in check and ensure the smooth running of the Company. All of our fitters are trusted and we fully guarantee of their work.In 2004 they set up a trading division of Kevin Karpets called K2 Flooring to highlight the fact they supply and fit all floor coverings not just the fluffy stuff. Over the years we have increased our portfolio of floor coverings to now include Amtico, Karndean, Quickstep laminate, Wood floors, Luxury Vinyl Tiles and Sheet Vinyl's.We offer a free no obligation measuring service. We also guarantee we won't be beaten on price (locally not including internet purchases). K2 Flooring are founder members of the Carpet Foundation and are approved by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) so customers can purchase their flooring with complete confidence and guarantees.
