I wasn’t convinced by the experience of the tradesperson who came out as when I explained the issue and what I expected the problem was, the tradesperson continued down what he thought. Even when I was proved right, he took 3 attempts at fixing the problem properly - it felt like he was nervous. In review I shouldn’t have stopped him once he’d opened the window and fixed it myself.
Perfectly friendly, but I felt he wasn’t particularly knowledgable.
When I discussed the fact I had a replacement part - a gearbox mechanism - the tradesperson said “oooh fancy words”. I felt patronised.

All of our repair technicians are senior window installers with many years experience in uPVC and aluminium windows and doors. Whilst we take on board our customers’ assessments of the fault, our installers are instructed to follow a process and diagnose the issue themselves to be absolutely sure. It sounds like this was achieved but he could have explained the process better.
