Eddie was absolutely fantastic. He was quick to respond every time we contacted. He is clearly very experienced and was able to determine the source of the damp issue. Eddie came to my property to investigate numerous instances of suspected damp and conducted a thorough survey which included the use of thermal imaging. He carefully explained all of the issues to me from which I learned a lot. He is clearly an expert in his field which is why I chose him for the work. He did an excellent job of installing a damp-proof membrane and re-plastering the walls around my bay windows. Throughout the process he communicated well and advised me on the various other precautions I could take to reduce the risk and causes of damp in my property. Having had many so called “ Damp experts “ unsuccessfully deal with a problem that has been present for 25 years, I decided to give it one last go. Capital damp solutions asked many questions leading up to the visit all which became poignant once here. Many elaborate instruments were used to assess the issue and an in depth detail of how he was going to remedy the issue was presented in layman’s terms. Hi, my name is Eddie and I've been a plasterer for over 35 yrs, having been taught in Ireland by my father, a master plasterer with over 50yrs experience.
I've just re-joined Checkatrade after taking time off while waiting for a hip replacement.
I initially joined Checkatrade in 2019 but almost immediately had to give up work for health reasons, hence my lack of reviews, although you can find more online by searching Eddie Wrynn Plastering and Damp Proofing.
I am a Certified British Gypsum plasterer and spent 3 years working for them as an assessor, checking and mediating on the work standards of plasterers throughout the UK.
This is what made me realize the amount of substandard work taking place.
The amount of SCAM RISING DAMP jobs I had to mediate on was SHOCKING.
In the VAST MAJORITY of cases, no chemical Damp course injection is needed. Unscrupulous contractors are conning people in to have a DPC injected where it isn't necessary.
If you get a "diagnosis" of rising damp, please call me, I can almost certainly guarantee you the damp is caused by something else.
We specialize on the common damp issues suffered by the downstairs flats in the WARNER ESTATE
However, if you do insist, which we do NOT generally recommend, on a new DPC being injected, we can carry this out using the Dryzone from Safeguard method.
We cover ALL aspects of dampness and damp investigations including
Condensation, Mould and Insulation solutions.
Endoscopic camera inspection of cavity wall and underfloor issues.
Salt (Efflorescence) on walls.
Thermal imaging using an IR camera to pinpoint cold spots.
Chimney ventilation issues.
Drone roof/chimney/flashing surveys.
Temperature analysis to pinpoint cold spots.

We also carry out independent condensation and Mould assessments for householders, landlords or tenants.
To reduce your costs, we are happy to let the customer do any prep, or reinstatement works themselves e.g. removing damp plaster or refitting skirting boards where necessary, decorating etc.
