We recently contacted Allwood Preservation when we found a few items with woodworm in our garage. Allwood Preservation came round to provide a solution to a rising damp issue by our back door in the kitchen, we also sought two additional quotes too. Great experience and a very honest person. Max came to assess our house for damp. Max looked outside the property, inside and asked what our concerns were. Max was honest and said that the issue was more condensation and gave us some further pointers to reduce it. Max was great, checked our damp wall and told us we didn't need him to do any work but instead recommended a plasterer. So nice to have someone knowledgeable and honest that could point us in the right direction with no charge. We are a small family run business and have been trading since the 80s.
I have been in construction since 1969 having served an apprenticeship in bricklaying which I gained a distinction. I worked on many prestigious projects over the years, in the city and west end of London including the Victoria and Albert museum, and many more.
I came into the remedial side of the business in the early 80s,and have been busy treating Damp and Timber problems ever since. We have resisted growing into a large firm because we like the hands on touch that only a family business can offer.
