Julian came out originally on a bank holiday Monday to view our sticking sash windows and advise on two new ones. He was very knowledgeable and professional. For a reasonable price he serviced 2 sashes, which now work perfectly and sourced and fitted 2 new sashes to match the originals, which we love. Julian carried out an excellent installation of 26 new double-glazed, wooden sash windows in our Edwardian house. Julian managed the whole process including oversight of the production of the new windows and also gave us very good advice on window furniture which he sourced and placed. He fitted the windows and repaired the surrounds with excellent craftsmanship and always ensured his work area was cleaned up at the end of the daty. He was very punctual, always pleasant and very nice to have about. Julian repaired and maintained 9 sash windows in our Georgian property. Julian is clearly a very skilled craftsman with a great depth of knowledge and attention to detail. I learnt a lot about my property from talking to him. Julian was a pleasure to deal with - he turned up when he said he was going to, explained what he was doing and kept me informed. He was always polite, put down protection for our furnishings and tidied up after himself every day. I was very pleased with the quality of his work. All Things Sash have over 20 years' experience in the repair and maintenance of sliding sash windows. We are based in East Preston and work within East and West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
We undertake all sash window repair work; below is a brief list of the typical jobs we do:
- Releasing windows that have been painted shut and getting them sliding again
- Replacing broken sash cords
- Topping up the counterweights for windows that are under weighted and won't stay open
- Servicing windows that are just hard to open, getting them moving freely again
- Draft proofing
- Replacing rotten cills and repairing rot to the frame
- Handling more extensive areas of rot to the actual sash frames and restoring them back to health
- Replacing broken locks and catches
