AAA Construction NW Ltd receives high praise for Alan's knowledgeable and friendly service, effective damp and condensation solutions using PIV systems, and prompt communication; however, some customers reported issues with the effectiveness of PIV installations and increased heating bills, especially when kitchen fans were absent, and one detailed a negative experience with a damp survey.

Job location: L18Alan gave great advice and the installation was smooth. 10 PIV fitted
Posted 24 April
Alan was brilliant, he is very knowledgeable, helpful and no nonsense. He fit a PIV in a bungalow where there's a condensation, some mould present and a strong musty smell. I've waited to review from February because obviously the change isn't immediate, but now there has been a huge improvement in the house in terms of odour and moisture reduction. I'm sure this will only improve with time. Great service would highly recommend!Verified reviewerJob location: WN5- AAnonymous
10 Damp Survey on First Time Buyer's House
Posted 11 April
Exceptional service! After the initial query, it took Alan 2 hours to call me to offer next day availability to come and inspect the house. Communication was great and he ended up coming earlier than expected. He was highly knowledgeable about all things house-related. He was thorough and inspected all rooms throughout the house, offering invaluable tips and advice. Alan was honest about the work that needed doing/not doing and as a first time buyer, I felt that I was in safe hands. I will be recommending him to my friends and family in the future!Verified reviewerJob location: PR7 6.33 Damp and timber survey

No detailed survey done, no readings taken in walls, just a visual look around (not in any detail) all damp missed, charged £100 to come round and try and sell a pivVerified reviewerJob location: WN8Response from Aaa Construction Nw Ltd
Firstly I would like to apologise to you if you’re not satisfied with my appraisal of the damp within your home. Physical dampness can be seen, as advised the dampness in your home is condensation caused by lack of or no ventilation. The Piv is the cure

May we at AAA Construction take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and offer our services. We are proud members of Checkatrade, to ensure peace of mind and the quality of work you deserve. We also offer a home consultation. Established in 1987 - if it's condensation, rising damp, cavity wall ties, or a full extension, please ring Alan at AAA Construction for a FREE verbal est.
I have been in the building trade for over 40 years and over the last few years I have received more calls than ever from homeowners/Landlords regarding condensation. (Or what is thought to be rising damp) and in the most cases the property has had a damp-proof course installed. Contrary to popular belief damp-proof courses work! Let me try to explain why.
As part of the damp-proof course treatment is the re-plastering, of which the base coat receives a water-proofer which kills the suction from the wall to enable the plasterer to apply his finish coat, because a water-proofer has been added nothing from within the wall can escape, which means anything i.e. condensation cannot get through to the cavity which would naturally disperse.
Also, over insulating i.e. cavity wall insulation over insulated lofts, UPVC sealed doors and windows. This basically means we are living in submarines. All properties need heat and ventilation, without it air within our homes will become stale and heavily laden with water thus creating an unhealthy environment for both you and your home (condensation).
The simple remedy is for us to install a lofty whole house ventilation system. This works by creating a positive air flow within your home making it a healthier and dryer place to live.
