Despite having two damp courses, I still had damp issues in my house. Alan identified the problem as uncontrolled condensation and saved me from the cost of another damp course. He recommended a PIV unit and two extractors. Alan and his colleague installed the PIV mess-free. Alan even met the electrician to explain the extractor installation. Additionally, he discovered a long-overlooked, unsafe issue in my loft and assisted in briefing the roofer to fix it, all without any charge or personal gain. After moving house, we were worried about the damp that had been uncovered in our survey. After a free consultation with Alan, we felt reassured that our house was in safe hands. I have reviewed this yesterday, however it may come across as having an issue with the Alan fitting the damp course. This is not the case, Alan was a source of guidance and advice, which resulted in him fitting the PIV and not rectifying any work carried previously.

Initially we asked for a survey of our living room, as we had had a damp course installed in Oct/ Nov 2023. We have damp patches on the chimney breast/alcoves. Alan diagnosed this as condensation, due to lack of ventilation having made our home (as many do) as draft proof as we could with upvc doors/windows. Fitting a PIV to help circulate the air throughout the house will hopefully cure this, only time will tell. Alan was very informative, prompt and communicated well throughout. I think the only slight drawback is that the unit is noisier than we were expecting.
