  Abuse of upfront fee through trust of Checkatrade

  Extortion/abuse of trust of their customers by using £120 upfront fee, then turning up by saying I had to pay an extra £217 for an extra 30 mins work which was really only 15 mins extra. Change a tap. They claim this is normal industry practice.. They said I could find someone else however if I had at that stage I would lose the £120. In hindsight I should have taken the risk but I was on the spot to make a decision with having already paid £120 and nothing done. It took 2 mins to change the washer and with tap total 1.5 hours. . I paid £337. BE WARNED.
