  Remove eight doors

  I had replaced eight internal doors and used this firm to take away the old doors to the recycling centre. The price quoted by the council's bulky item removal service was over £200, and a skip was also expensive. This company was much cheaper and collected promptly on the agreed date.

  Remove brick chimney and boiler flue pipe and replace battens, felt and tiles as required.

  Quoted very fast, and completed work efficiently. Allen used scaffold platform over solar panels to avoid any damage. A rival quoter was going to remove the panels. Gave a discount as removal of the chimney was easier than expected.

  Mended stuck garage door. Needed to replace broken spring on one side of door

  I rang to get a quote for fixing my broken garage door. With an hour he called, said I needed a new spring, quoted price for supply and fit. He had the right spring in the van so did the job there and then. Perfect.

  Testing to determine reason for tripping of electrical sockets in one circuit

  Testing showed that problem was a faulty fridge-freezer as the circuits passed the tests. I was quoted £90 for the first hour and was ready to pay that. As the work took less time I was only asked to pay £70 which was very pleasing. He was also the only electrician who could attend the same day (within an hour in fact) and I contacted three others so top marks for that too. Bad news is that I probably need to buy a new fridge-freezer

  Skim and plaster living room walls and ceiling. Ceiling was spiky so needed smoothing out.
