  Poor finish and workmanship

  H&E Glazing agreed to replace my sun-damaged conservatory roof with new materials, which I'd previously purchased. They didn't smooth the gutter line sealant and left gaps (which I finished off myself). They screwed the gutter directly back on the frame without using the existing brackets (which were in good condition), and the pitch of the roofing panels is misaligned. They offered to come back but wanted to send the same fitter who'd done such a sub-standard job in the first place. I'm still waiting for an invoice and workmanship guarantee. Avoid H&E Glazing, to avoid disappointment!

  Sparks of London provided a quote which was extremely competitive. Once having looked at the job, sent the quote and received my instruction, Curtis arranged to come the next working week to do the job. He arrived on time, was polite, explained what needed to be done and installed the fan in just an hour and a half. Curtis was tidy, neat, efficient and talked me through the operation of the fan and adjusting the timer. I'm very happy with the installation and would thoroughly recommend Curtis and Sparks of London - to anyone wanting some electrical work done.

  Relocate the external vent for a kitchen hob extractor fan

  I booked Ellis & Sons to relocate my extractor fan for 9am this morning, so took the morning off and cleared the kitchen area. I got a message that they were running late, due to a prioritised urgent job. The last message I received from them saying they'd 'keep me in the loop' was 9.08am. Come midday - I still hadn't heard anything. I've since messaged them (it's 2.30pm now) and tried phoning but no response. Don't book them unless you want to be messed around and let down.

  Replacement Patio Window Units

  I needed some old fogged up patio units replaced. Stuart, from Billericay Windows, priced the job and his quote was very competitive. Him and his fitter were also polite, professional and knowledgeable about the work required - so I happily accepted their quote. When they came to fit the units, they contacted me before arriving, arrived on time, cleaned up afterwards and finished the job in just a couple of hours. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who needs some double-glazing work done.
