  Of the 3 appliance repair specialists suggested to me by Checkatrade, this was the only one who specified a price for the part (probably) needed and the fixed call-out charge. It also happened to be the cheapest of the 3.

  I was pleased to be given a quote price by phone and a date for cooker plate repair was agreed with owner of the company. Two repairers duly turned up on the day, investigated the fault, declared it to be "not as bad as expected", repaired and charged me less than the quoted price! :-) I applaud this - not the case with a previous Checkatrade "bod" who doubled his price on the spot, for electric oven element replacement, for fixing new terminals as well as the element! :-(

  Chose B H Home Improvements from their excellent Checkatrade reviews :-) Bobby & son Bobby soon came to view the work to be done & gave realistic quote. They were excellent at keeping in touch until we could foresee a dry spell for the work. Young Bobby & colleague Dale undertook the painting, kept me informed of progress, worked methodically and with a cheerful attitude. Pleased with their work & not a drop of paint splashed anywhere!! Dad Bobby - your son is a credit to you and maintains a great standard for your family firm. Shall certainly use BH again and recommend you!

  Trees felled according to plan pre-agreed. Trunks chopped to legs and removed by trailer. Remaining branches chipped and blown back on to patch, to mulch down.

  Can highly recommend David. He was able to fit in the work at short notice, was careful to check trees were not under any Tree Preservation Order and explained fully his 'tree plan'! Found David to be professional while being courteous and friendly. He checked with me regularly that he was working according to my plans and also kindly removed some shrubs and bushes too. David - as an experienced Tree Surgeon, you deserve to do well, in your fairly new, own business!

  Central heating and water boilers serviced.

  Have had Jeff to service boilers before. Jeff and apprentice son came soon after I contacted -no hot water!. Work carried out efficiently and at reasonable price for the 2 boilers. Shall certainly use them again and recommend to friends.

  Communication with Ben even before he came to view and quote for the work was excellent. He is an affable young man and takes a pride in his work. He worked efficiently, keeping me informed and advising on decorating afterwards. I would thoroughly recommend Ben and certainly have him for future plastering work.

  Anthony cheerful, friendly and thorough. Problem wasn't as he first suspected / investigated - didn't charge for this! Leak repaired and another problem found: returned with part. Still very reasonable cost. Highly recommend.

  Despite lock problem not being an emergency, Graham arranged to come the day after I made contact. He efficiently diagnosed the break in the locking system, said new part was necessary, but showed me from catalogue, the part was obsolete. New pair of doors out of the question but Graham compromised with satisfactory solution. He is affable, courteous and a tidy worker. "Bertha" seems well kitted out, meaning Graham could complete the job on the day. I have already asked him to do further repairs, to windows this time. Shall recommend to others.
