My 1970's tiled pitched double garage roof was old and the rafters were sagging as they were underspecified. Jake replaced the thin rafters with 4 x 2 timbers which gave proper structural support. He also replaced the tiles which are now perfectly true. Being a pyramid shape roof, extensive ridge tiles were required on the corners, all of which were very neatly laid in roofing mortar and great care was taken to ensure that the lines were straight and true. I am a retired Chartered Surveyor so have an eye for good workmanship and can thoroughly recommend Jake whose work was first rate.

Tombs Roofing was recommended to us by a neighbour when we were looking for a trust worthy company to repair a leak in our roof. Jake came out to quote and the work completed on time by his father Murray and assistant. A very friendly, reliable and professional service, would not hesitate to use again.

Arrived at time agreed, discussed work to be carried out and given excellent professional advice. Given quotes with a breakdown of costs. Work carried out to an excellent standard within timeframe stated. Overall I can’t fault their work, they were polite, tidy and carried out everything agreed. Definitely would recommend them and use them again if needed.

After an initial inspection of the chimney and surrounding tiles, Jake arranged to carry out the repair a few days later. He and his colleague quickly erected scaffolding and fastened ladders with protection for the tiles. They removed the faulty flashing, made a new piece and fitted it. They also replaced a few damaged tiles. On completion they tidied up thoroughly - even taking away the leaves. The whole job had only taken four hours.

Jake responded to an emergency call out where water was leaking into my house after a recent storm. He was able to come out the same day to assess the issue and quote for the work. He was flexible with the options available and was able to arrange for two team members to carry out the work the same week. All mess was tidied away and now we’re just waiting on the next storm with fingers crossed that it’s resolved the issue. I’m looking to have more roofing work carried out and will be contacting Jake in the future.

What's not to dislike, turned up when they said they would, were polite and courteous, did what they said they would with no hidden costs. Even did a couple of bits of extra work with no additional labour costs and came back to clear away some debris left by another contractor. I'm not an roof or chimney expert but finished job looks good and I have no hesitation that they would sort out any issues not that I expect any. Shame I didn't get in touch with them two years ago when I initially tried to get the work done. Very happy to recommend.
