Response from Tim Burn
I was asked to convert a room into an ensuite. After completion, I moved to an existing ensuite to fit a toilet pan to a cistern fitted by somebody else and minus the fitting to pan. I ordered and fitted these sealing with fernox sealant. The push flush connection was broken and disconnected I fixed in place with a tape (not cellotape) informing customer to call me if it didn’t work which she did. I visited that day and explained I could connect permanently but if this failed the unit would need replacing. Whilst there we discussed central heating system they had been topping up for some time due to loss of pressure. Suspecting a small underfloor leak suggested leakstop additive returning the next day, my second visit and added central heating leakstop. Both visits and materials done as a courtesy told customer if any problems to contact me as job was completed by 19 Dec I assumed all was ok. 7 month later contacted regarding a problem and someone else was fixing. I was not given the opportunity to return and see what the problem was.
