I contacted Steve Phipps following a word of mouth recommendation. I sought a decorator capable of fully preparing walls, ceilings and woodwork for repainting. Steve gave an accurate estimate of the time needed for the job, the quantity of paint required, recommendations of paint finishes for different rooms and highlighted potential issues with options to resolve them. Most importantly, Steve gave fair quotes for the work, turned up, completed the job and tidied up as agreed. The quality of his work and his attention to detail are exceptional and I thoroughly recommend him for his craftwork.

Painted interior of the house and fitted fireplace

Right from the beginning I found Steve very helpful and courteous answering all my enquiries. He carried out the work to a high standard and was patient when I changed my mind on certain things. He painted the interior of our house, fit 2 fireplaces, changed door handles, removed part of a fitted wardrobe. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again in future for other projects

We found Steve very helpful with suggestions and providing colour charts, and happy to tone down the first coat when it seemed rather bright! Finished colour was very much better. He will be back later to start on another project.

Steve was very friendly and great to have in the house! He was very thorough when it came to prepping the walls and did a great job of the painting. My carpenter was very complimentary about the quality of his work too! Steve was also very flexible and helpful when I asked him to help me with a few other jobs - nothing was too much trouble!! I'm looking forward to having more work done by Steve in the coming months.
