  Not the expected finish

  Doug cam ever to quote us and seemed to be very knowledgeable and that he had done this job multiple times. He communicated it would take 3-4 days to complete to a finish where we just had to paint after. Unfortunatley the job took longer than expected, with Doug having to shop to get supplies that could have been thought of earlier in order to make the job more efficient. The finish was not as simple as just being able to paint, there was quite a lot of filling that now needs to be done round edges and a new carpet that needs laying as there is now a gap that he did not tell us about.

  A 90% inaccurate spiteful review. It took 3 ½ hours longer that the 3-4 days quoted. When I finished work each day, I would go to the builders’ merchants on my way home so when I got to work in the morning the materials were in the van - how is that now efficient. The second fix carpentry would need filling by a decorator that is in his remit to undertake. That is the only point I could have made clearer. The gap in the carpet saga; I knocked through a wall to create a doorway so the carpet would not be under the part of the wall I removed – would it. At the end of each day, I asked the husband to see how the job was progressing - not any problems from him. The final insult came in a text telling me she was helping me to be more professional and learn from what she said for future jobs a bit like me telling a fighter pilot how to fly a plane.   Bedroom separation

  Very professional yet friendly. Job was completed within agreed timescale. Would absolutely use Spencer Builders again.

  Clearing a kitchen, fitting new and arranging work with other trades.

  Garage conversion

  We wanted our garage converted to make a usable space for a gym. It was damp and fairly unusable. Doug came and made excellent suggestions to convert this sapce into a room, far greater than we expected as it now feels like a proper room. He was very approachable and filled us with reassurance. We look forward to using him again for our next project.

  Kitchen fitting

  Doug did an excellent job in getting our new kitchen installed, this included stripping out the old kitchen, fixing the walls and floor. He pays a lot of attention to the detail and makes sure everything is 100%. Doug is very courteous and is very pleasant, he knows what he is talking about and always offers solutions to any problems, we are very happy with the finish and would not hesitate in recommending him for any jobs

  Bathroom and Kitchen plastering

  After Doug recently completed a fantastic job rendering the exterior of our flat to resolve a leak, we didn't hesitate in getting back in touch to re-plaster the damaged area of our kitchen and a long overdue job of replastering our bathroom. A very fair price was quoted and despite the job being a little bigger than expected due to blown plaster in the bathroom, the revised quote for the additional work was very reasonable. Doug was polite and considerate, taking care not to disturb me when i was in meetings online. Kept everything tidy at the end of each day. Highly recommended.
