    Repair damaged drain and level uneven paviors

    Sean and his team cannot be faulted. Sean explained our options. We made a decision. He set up the job very promptly. He and his team arrived promptly. Carried out the work. Cleaned up any mess and put everything back in place in the garden. It is clear that Sean keeps a close eye on the work as it is being done,which is pleasing. Pricing was very reasonable .Cannot recommend this company more highly.

    Driveway and small patio replacement

    Sean and his team did a first class job to replace an ugly concrete driveway with a neat block edged tarmac finish. They also built out a small patio in sandstone paving to create a great seating area. The area is over 100m squared and they were finished in 4 days working full days with a very skilled team. The finish is fantastic and we are delighted with the result.

    New tarmac and extended gravel driveway.

    Had old concrete drive in poor condition broken out and brick edgings replaced and done with tarmac, plus our gravel drive extended. Shook hands on the price on Saturday and job was all done by the next Thursday. They did a few extras for us too without increasing the price. Very happy and would recommend.

S.M. Contractors (Essex) Ltd is a family run business based in Braintree, Essex. We undertake works in all of North Essex, South Suffolk and East Herts on a daily basis. We were incorporated as in limited company in 2012 but have been trading as a family business for over 20 years.

We have a skilled, experienced and friendly team undertaking all aspects of hard landscaping and driveways on a daily basis. We have our own machinery and plant so no need to hire in expensive machines or skip hire. We specialise in domestic driveways - skilled in block paving, tarmac, tar and chip and many other finishes.
