Whilst the guys were pleasant enough, there were a number of significant issues that means I sadly cannot recommend Smart Choice, especially for tarmac work.
Most of the path looks good and the price was competitive. However the main issue is that due to miscalculations and lack of attention to detail, the tarmac doesn't finish flush with the timber edging as requested. Instead it's about 30mm short of the timber edge, which not only makes it harder to mow at the edge, but it also now floods in heavy rain (see attached pics).
Poor communication + rampant littering were also bugbears

To clarify, the tarmac height issue wasn’t due to miscalculations but the strict deadline we were asked to meet—one extra day would have allowed us to finish it perfectly flush and this was discussed with yourself. You also received free extras including grading, double the gravel boards, and added drainage that wasn’t included but included to improve the job. We don’t recall any littering being mentioned. We offered to return, but were limited to dates and times that worked around your Airbnb guests. We’re glad you found the team pleasant and the price fair.
