KEVIN SUTHERLAND WAS SENT AS HE LIVES ONLY A COUPLE OF STREETS AWAY. UPON ARRIVAL IT TOOK HIM 2 MINUTES TO FIX MY HEATING HIVE.NOT CONTENT AT THAT, HE SAID HE MUST LOOK TO SEE WHAT PARTS MY BOILER NEEDED. HE LEFT 20 MINUTES LATER THEN PHONED TO ASK FOR £160 AND SAID HE WOULD RETURN. HE CEASED ALL METHODS OF COMMUNICATION FOR 5 DAYS AND LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY AND TOTALLY STRESSED. HE PRETENDED MORE PARTS WERE REQUIRED IN ORDER THAT HE COULD ASK ME FOR MORE MONEY, THEN DISAPPEARED AND SHUT DOWN ALL METHODS OF COMMUNICATION. I WAS LEFT STRESSED AND IN THE DARK. VPOOR
Response from SGS Plumbing and Heating
Firstly, I never charged a penny for call out and fault finding. So 'asking
for more money' is false.
Customer said the heating didn't work. Got it working and showed her how to
work the wireless programmer.
She also said that the boiler keeps losing pressure. A burst expansion
vessel was identified. Replacing the existing vessel isn't economically
viable as the flue would need removed to do this.
I priced parts and labour to install an external vessel and replace the
pressure relief valve.
I tried calling the customer but no answer, so I left a text message quoting £160
for all parts and labour. But never received anything back.
Again, NO MONEY WAS EXCHANGED and no 'pretending' took place. The vessel is
burst and needs a new one to stop the pressure issues, and pressure relief
valve will need replaced too.
