We stand by our diagnosis that both 2-port valves were faulty, one was jammed, the other noisy — as observed during our visit. Once replaced, we identified a further fault with the mixing valve and consulted the manufacturer, Ambiente, who advised a full valve replacement. This was the guidance we followed when quoting the additional works. We understand you later received conflicting advice directly from Ambiente and resolved the issue via another route, which we’re glad to hear. It was certainly never our intention to mislead or overcharge. We based our recommendations on the manufacturer’s guidance at the time and regret that this caused frustration. While we cannot offer a refund for works completed (which we believe were necessary), we recognise your concerns and have shared this case internally to help improve communication and diagnostics for future cases. Thank you for your feedback. At Serviceteam, we value transparency and professionalism in all our work. Peter initially contacted us with a faulty shower issue and declined our recommendation for a site visit to accurately diagnose the problem. Instead, he chose to purchase his own part, which we warned might be incorrect. Unfortunately, the part was unsuitable, and we discovered that no spare parts were available for the shower model. We then provided a quote for replacing both showers, offering a 50% discount on the original visit’s cost, despite the issue stemming from Peter's decision not to follow expert advice. We successfully replaced one valve, but the second shower required a non-standard valve, which was only identified after dismantling the existing unit. We provided a revised proposal for the second shower and didn’t charge for any uncompleted work. We remain committed to high-quality service and fairness, and all charges were in line with the agreed terms. We deny any claims of dishonesty or predatory behaviour.
