Everything you’d want from a builder. Refurbishing a Victorian terrace across multiple floors with internal building, plastering and joinery all needed and Ratcliffe took care of it all. Cost was fair and very competitive. Communication was excellent. They treated our home like their own and instantly put us at ease. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any form or scale of work and I’m sure we’ll engage them again in the future. It can be hard to find tradespeople you can trust, but John, Ben, Julie and Dom were skilled, reliable, scrupulous and conscientious. Top firm.

Removed huge old stone wall between 2 downstairs rooms to create family kitchen/dining/living space, fitted kitchen and built bespoke window seat. Co-ordinated large amount of re-wired and re-plumb of property. Reinforced floors and laid underfloor heating. Pete gave better suggestions than the architect as to how we could use space in the rooms which was really helpful. Professional and friendly, felt very comfortable having them in my home as a women. Which is really important if your going to have people in for a while. Would use again to complete more sections as budget allows.

Our roof has seen soooo many trades it should have a Stetson hat. So we were really pleased with them when they attended our leaky roof. Only four years since we paid a lot for it to be reroofed, but a guy from Ratcliffe Carpentry found the cause, sourced a few matching tiles to replace the ones that the previous guy had ruined, and replaced them. Whilst up on the roof he sorted our gutter out too. What a refreshing change to have a friendly craftsman who can also walk the walk. No reservation in wholeheartedly recommending this company to anyone. They will be my go-to craftsmen now.

pete fitted 5 doors and a shelf, the work was completed in a day and, the doors are lovely. pete and his team are very professional, nothing is too much and i would highly recommend them for all carpentry, building work.

pete and his team were friendly polite and very professional. they turned up early each day and left late. i had a cabin with bedroom an en-suite and a kitchen area built for my disabled husband, and i would highly recommend the team and would definitely call on them again for any future work.
