    James and Alex were amazing start to finish you could tell Alex put a lot of work into making sure my new place looked amazing. The communication was great. No question was left unanswered and any snags needed was taken care of ! I couldn’t recommend any more!! They really did go above and beyond.

    Three Storey House - Hall, Stairs & Landings

    From initial contact to finishing the job, James & his team were friendly & professional. It was a pleasure to deal with everyone involved. We employed Pure Painting (JD Decorating) because of the glowing reports from friends who'd used them. We have a 3 storey house and so there was a lot of work involved in decorating the hall, stairs and 2 landings. Tony & Alex were extremely hard working and obviously took pride in doing a good job. The fiddly work of gloss painting al the spindles on our stairs was managed with expertise and accuracy! We will definitely be using the company again.

Hi, my name is James Davies and I am the proud owner of JD Decorating.


I've been in the trade for 13 years and I have worked hard to become someone who completes work quickly and to a high standard. I have lots of experience painting houses inside and out and use dustless systems to hoover up unwanted dust. Keeping it out of the air and off your sides and out of your furniture.


Work includes


  • Plan of works detailed in the quote, this helps to stick to timeframe and budget
  • Fixing bad plaster, cracks, old woodwork, reboarding/plastering
  • Sash windows
  • Beams
  • Furniture kitchen units
  • Lots of protection used for floors, sides, sinks, bathrooms, furniture, tv's, carpets
  • Sanding with extraction is possible for 95%+ of surfaces, dust be gone!!
  • Traditional brush and roller, crisp lines and quick workmanship to get through projects quicker
  • Spraying is great for big areas or mist coats (priming plaster) woodwork can be sprayed for a perfect finish but isn’t always a viable option
  • Cleaning of windows, hinges and anything else that might have paint on it before new paint is applied
  • Exterior work
