Piers Shrapnell was fabulous. He was quick, prompt and helpful in all his communications with me. He gave great advice around suitable products to use in maintaining the silky smooth finish of our dining table, side table and blanket box. I had the teak side table from my grandmother, I had never seen it without the marks before. The blanket box had been made from an old dance floor and had been brought back to Britain when my Mam and family returned from living abroad. It had the marks of a well loved piece of furniture. Piers recently renovated my elm dining table which had become sun damaged over time. The experience was faultless, he turned up every day on time and was extremely courteous. He was very tidy and always left the area clean as he had found it. He completed the work as discussed and I am delighted with the work. PJS Restoration was established in 2003.
An interest in antiques and a love of fixing things led to our founder studying furniture restoration at the London College of Furniture, London Guildhall University. This included furniture making and various aspects of restoration.
The services we offer are cabinet making and repairs, woodwork, carving, gluing, veneers, traditional French polishing by hand, liming, modern finishing (including polyurethane lacquers and wax oils), wooden kitchen worktop oiling and re-finishing, desktop re-leathering.
