  Renovation of facade of Victorian Building

  Terry is on the face of it friendly and communicative but unfortunately he did not possess the skills necessary to carry out a fairly simple cleaning and light restoration of our Victorian facade. This was made worse by being completely unreliable. A neighbour was having similar work done by a skilled stone mason who was able to step in and at least partially rectify things but there are still areas where black mortar has stained stone, and the second mason had to carry out unnecessary stone replacement work to repair things. Terry left a mess daily, and left waste for us to dispose of now.

  The above review is totally untrue. It was made clear on the quote it was a 'light clean' not full restoration, which I had to reiterate on many occasions. The customer was told the black spots would not be removed but could be made lighter, which they have. Customer had a builder on site and used his scaffold and this was not made safe for my work until I refused to work off it any longer. Customer was difficult from day one and is now continuing to be difficult. If I could give a review for this customer it would be less that 2.7. Just look at our reviews below for previous works.

  Terry gave good advice on work required and carried out repairs in a timely and tidy manner. Very pleased with results and would highly recommend Norse Stonemasonry.

  Terry supplied and fit us a limestone hearth for our fireplace. He listened to our likes and dislikes (which were quite vague!) and he managed to source the perfect stone. We are really happy with it. We were initially quoted for the work quickly and booked in soon after, and Louise kept us informed via email. We’d definitely use Norse Brickwork again.

  Victorian house repairs

  Terry was exceptional in his diagnosis & explanation of the works required. He was always good at communicating any issues and I had complete trust in his expertise. He is a master stonemason as well as general builder, which I needed for the repair of my house frontage. He and his team were always courteous and cleared up after themselves each day. I have already recommended him to several friends looking for a reputable and reliable craftsman.
