A great experience from quote to completion. Work was completed on time and the result is amazing. The carpet was removed, stairs repaired and carpet replaced and the quality of the work is amazing. Creaking is gone and the stairs that were collapsing have been repaired and appear as good as new. Cost was extremely reasonable and some last minute work was done for free on the stair bannister as well.

I got a few quotes in for a job to fit some bespoke bookshelves in our living room and bedroom and a few other bits around our house. I chose Michael because of his clear attention to detail and competitive pricing, which gave me reassurance that he would do an excellent job. Michael and his colleague Angelo did do an excellent job. In fact the only reason I have not given Michael a perfect score is for his timekeeping which lagged quite a bit beyond the initial time he quoted me with - 9 days rather than 2 but the quality is excellent so on balance we are rather happy all the same!

Advertised for a new replacement door. Knowing costs could be upwards of £900 - £1500+ from prior research Michael from MSA Carpentry came calling offering me not a new door, but a thoroughly detailed diagnosis of the problem which gave me and him options solving the issue with a replacement sash lock mechanism inside the door. Saving me at least £1500 Michael was very diligent and detailed in rooting out the problem with the inner workings of the door, cylinder, lock mech... Michael is solo, very personable, polite and kept in communication with updates with sourcing and cost changes.

We had Michael in to look at our staircase. He did a much more thorough inspection that other tradespeople we got quotes from, and fully explained to us the issues we were facing. He gave us a very fair price for replacing the staircase and was very communicative throughout the process. The finished staircase is very secure and finished to a high quality. Michael was meticulous in cleaning up after himself. He was very friendly throughout and very patient with complications like trying to wrangle two curious cats. We'd recommend him very strongly and would hire him again.

Michael was clear when visiting for the quote on what needed to be done and spent time explaining his approach. On visiting to do the work was efficient and clearly explained what he would be doing to the stairs. Work was completed in a day and a bit (a day for rebuilding the lower part of the stairs and the rest being completed in the following morning). All done quickly and tidied up at the end of each visit. On this basis have asked for a quote for other work with more potentially in the future.

Michael was hardworking, reliable and trustworthy. He worked as part of a small team who refurbished our kitchen, living room, and utility room, and created a new downstairs bathroom. We appreciated the care he took to complete each task and tidy up afterwards. We would be very happy to employ him again in future.
