Hi, I’m Marv — here’s a little about me and what I can offer.

I’m the owner of the company and have been in the building and roofing trade since the age of 18, bringing over 25 years of hands-on experience.

Alongside my team of trusted tradesmen, we cover all aspects of building and roofing.

Our work ranges from high-end residential new builds right through to smaller repairs, maintenance and tenancy works.

Although I’m mainly on Checkatrade offering roofing services, if I’m honest, I’m very much an all-rounder.

We are a building and roofing company, and my experience across the wider construction trade allows me to look at a project properly as a whole rather than just one part of it.

My formal qualifications are in brickwork (Levels 1–3 NVQ and City & Guilds). I’m also a certified single-ply installer for SikaPlan / Sarnafil systems.

With specialist systems like this you have to complete the manufacturer’s training to obtain the certification before you can purchase and install the materials.

This helps ensure the systems are installed correctly and keeps the work within trained hands rather than being sold to just anyone.

In terms of pitched roofing, my knowledge comes from over 25 years of hands-on experience.

Pitched roofing is largely a skill learned through time on the tools rather than classroom qualifications, and after decades of stripping, repairing and installing roofs you gain a level of knowledge that only experience can really teach.

Because I’ve worked across many areas of construction, I’m able to assess a job from the foundations right through to the final ridge tile.

This helps identify issues early and ensures the work is carried out properly and built to last. I’m a big believer in doing things once and doing them right.

I joined Checkatrade in 2026 mainly as a bit of a trial to see how the platform works for us.

Most of our work normally comes through referrals and repeat customers, which I’m very grateful for. However, after being called out to fix quite a few jobs that hadn’t been carried out properly, I thought it made sense to also offer my services here, so homeowners have another reliable option when they need work done properly.

A large part of my work involves diagnosing and putting right issues caused by poor workmanship.

It’s not always the most glamorous side of the trade, but it does mean customers get their problems solved properly rather than creating bigger ones down the line.

Alongside repairs and remedial work, we also carry out full residential construction projects including

Although my Checkatrade profile is relatively new, I do have an established online presence and a number of customer reviews on other platforms.

My aim is simple — offer honest advice, carry out quality workmanship and leave every job knowing it’s been done to a standard I’d be happy with on my own home.
