Chris did a great job replacing wooden planters with breezeblock-based ones. Initially we were looking at brick but he advised these would be better. He did a great and efficient job, involving removing paving slabs, laying foundations, building and rendering the planters and painting them. The job was delayed several times as a result of bad weather but Chris kept us informed throughout. We're very pleased with the final result.

Chris is an incredible professional who goes the extra mile to do the best quality work, but is also very clean considerate and communicative. The build of the wall required foundations and precision, its a retaining wall next to the old wall and required following the structural engineers plans. He was smart and spotted a small mistake in those plans so I was able to get them altered early on. He went out of his way to make sure everything was correct

Chris is a very experienced and expert bricklayer who takes time to prep and set-out perfectly before building. The double low brick planter walls and tall brick planters had to match and be stitched into the existing brickwork, both of which he achieved seamlessly. The brickwork is perfect. The house is improved hugely by his work and we have asked him to undertake two further projects for us.

I actually found Chris through him doing work on a neighbouring property. It was certainly a good find. He did an excellent job on the bungalow and garage walls. It was through the winter months, but despite the rain Chris always would let you know what was happening if it meant he couldn't come on that particular day. . The bungalow looks like new on the walls that have had the work. He also put in a new water butt with a much more suitable set up then previously. It was nice to be able to trust someone as he had to lock up on many occasions whilst I was working. Very happy with the work

Chris from MDJ building did a fantastic job. He was conscientious and a pleasure to have in the house. He completed the work above and beyond expectations. He obviously has a lot of experience and despite this being a relatively small and mundane job he completed it with a sense of pride in his workmanship.
