They marked my property satisfactory in 2020, but their 2025/26 EICR contradicted that, listing mainly minor issues. They charged £144 per property and then quoted a high fee for a “satisfactory” certificate, ignoring my queries about C2 items.
A second electrician quoted a very minimal price for the same work, including checks and satisfactory certificate.
Their approach felt unprofessional and opportunistic. Always get a second opinion before acting on EICR recommendations.
Even if it were the only company left in the world, I still wouldn’t use them for an EICR.
Response from Marshall Merritt Electrical
Hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the statement above is completely misguided and misinformed.
1st bit of wrong information. We didn't carry out a eicr last year as these get carried out every 5 years.
2nd these properties have numerous safety concerns from missing light fittings, exposed cables, faulty RCBOs, ip breaches to distribution boards among many more. The landlord was completely unaware and thought his properties where in fantastic condition Unfortunately not. I wish the landlord and the electrical contractor who has carried out the remedial work 2 days later good luck.
