Mike and his team decorated our house. I caught one of his colleagues painting bare wood without priming it, and when I questioned it, Mike had to intervene and correct his colleague. The level of finish was pretty poor, some bare plaster is still on show around windows and sockets. Mike also opted against painting a bathroom architrave as his team were not skilled enough to not get paint on microcement - he did reduce the quote so we could get another decorator. Sockets were also damaged but Mike did agreed to pay for replacements. Only positive is level of communication.
Response from M and V Maintenance Limited
The new attic conversion, which featured two rooms and a landing/stairway area, has been decorated by us.
As a refresh coat, we also painted the stairs from the first level to the ground floor.
Additionally, we installed and caulked the skirting boards in the single room at no cost, as well as painted the under-stair cupboard and the bannisters on the first through ground floors
(Multifinish, newly skimmed walls) The preparation was made considerably more difficult by the extremely low quality of the plastering.
Due to the customer's displeasure with our apprentice using their tap to wash his hands, we have declined to perform any work inside the lavatory.
The plasterer should have cleaned the window framing before decorating, but instead they left dry plaster behind, exposing bare plaster. We didn't question the customer who still hasn't given us the receipt for the new plugs/sockets, even though they were off during the project and only put back on at the end.
