    Quality bricklayers at reasonable cost

    Posted 29 October

I first engaged LSJ Brickwork in June 2024 to undertake some repointing and underpinning work on an old brick wall. I was delighted with their work and submitted a positive review at the time. This year they were working in the local area and they were able to help out at short notice with some further work on a day rate basis. This work was carried out to their usual high standard and, with the benefit of good weather, was completed more quickly than anticipated.

    Vast knowledge and totally committed.

Lee is traditional bricklayer who has extensive first hand experience of all types of brick work and stone work. At Doebank he dismantled and rebuilt a long and high greenhouse wall, cleaning and recycling as many bricks as possible, up to 11,000 bricks! He was totally committed to the job and was always on site, often in horrendous conditions. Lee built bespoke pillars in his own design to support the wall and we were able to reuse all the Georgian capping stones. Lee and his team have repointed in lime 3 faces of the property, no small feat, without damaging any bricks. Outstanding work!

Lee was upfront about the cost and work involved. The quality of work was excellent. We have continued with LSJ for other projects and would 100% recommend his services to anyone.

    Greenhouse wall reconstruction.

    Posted 01 March

It was a huge undertaking to deconstruct the wall, clean up the bricks and the relay with lime. In spite of the many weather set backs the team pushed through and rebuilt the wall using all reclaimed materials on site including 11000 hand made bricks of different sizes. Additional features including bespoke decorative pillars and scallop finished the wall of in keeping with the main house. The extensive knowledge and experience of Lee made this job possible. They also cleaned out and repointed a large end wall using a French lime and course mixed sand which came out really well.
