Money taken, job not done, avoiding me and refusing to refund - scammed.

I had a broken lock gearing on a security door, so the bolts no longer retracted. I booked Lockguard Locksmiths to arrive on 30th March. The unlocked the door and I paid 305GBP for visit and for ordering spare components. Since then a month later, they have not completed the job. 6 calls later, even spoke to manager - nothing. I asked for a refund - being ignored. I feel scammed - stay away from this company.

Very expensive over priced poor quality workmanship should not be on checkatrade

I had a new lock and assembly fitted to a pvc door at a cost of over £600 within a month the door would not latch closed I spoke with the receptionist about the problem and was told I would be charged for the work, the guarantee only covers the materials not the workmanship which is of a poor standard as the latch assembly was left with sharp edges. you could tell by the excuses they come up with why I was going to be charged the door must have dropped or it could have bowed it has only been 4 weeks and used very little. A visit would cost £87 plus VAT. I would not recommend this company

    Dreadful experience

We called this company to change several locks in a repossessed building. The locksmith seemed unsure as to what he was doing and apparently had someone else’s van which was low on stock and in a mess. His biggest concern was when and how he was going to get paid He replaced only 3 euro locks for £75 each. Even the most expensive ones that we buy are only £25 or so. They are easy to replace – slide out the old one and slide in a replacement. He spent ages dismantling a lock and wasn't able to open the door The bill was £900
