    Dale had brilliant communication and really helped put my mind at rest. He came the following day and had all the information and answers we needed. Dale helped me figure the issue and helped put a plan in place for the future. There was no pressure, just advice and help on how to fix problems. Thanks again would recommend you to anyone.

    To repair fireplace wall from salt contamination

    I chose D B preservation to repair my fireplace wall which has salt contamination at the bottom of it and Nick was very helpful and kept me informed about the date for doing the job right up to the night before so that was good communication by them. On the day of the job,Dale arrived and explained what he was going to do and the timescale for finishing the job before he started the repair. After the first day, Dale tidied up the mess and explained what he was going to do to finish it the following day and then on his return the following day, he completely finished the excellent job.

Lincolnshire Damp Proofing - Our Story

Lincolnshire Damp Proofing is a family‑run business owned by Dale Baker and Nick Brown, best friends for more than 31 years. Our journey has been built on hard work, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping people protect their homes.

How It All Began

In 2008 Dale made the decision to leave a full‑time job and start from scratch as a plasterer. With no experience and no contacts, the early days were tough. By getting out every day, meeting people, and taking on labouring and plastering work for established damp proofing companies, he gained the hands‑on exposure the industry demands.

A major turning point came when Dale earned the trust of the technical representative for Triton Chemicals (later Wykamol, and now Mapei). Recognising Dale’s morals, integrity, and work ethic, they supported him through the training required to become an approved contractor — a milestone that shaped the future of the business.

Growing the Team

In 2023, Nick joined the company, bringing with him a strong business background, fresh ideas, and the kind of reliability that only three decades of friendship can build. His contribution has strengthened the company even further.

More recently, Nick’s nephew Zac has joined the team and is already proving himself to be a valuable part of the business, with the hope of becoming full‑time in the near future.
