  4 warped hardwood doors don't fit

  I had 4 coal bunker hardwood doors made to measure requested from LA Carpentry and Refurbishment Ltd. The doors don’t fit and immediately warped, 1 doesn’t open and 3 don’t close. LAC told me I would have to pay extra for any fixes and that they would send the debt for the remaining bill to a debt collector/solicitor which they have done. I have a report from a carpentry expert witness who says the doors are not fit for purpose. ‘Images 001 in appendix 5 is the internal elevation photograph of one of the 4 doors showing how all four have been incorrectly constructed.'

  REVIEW Incredibly stressed and disappointed working with L A Carpentry. I ordered 4 hardwood coal bunker doors and frames to be made and fitted. Although I told LA Carpentry the door openings were all different sizes they made 4 doors the same size, so there are gaps between the door and the frame, some up to 10 cms which they filled with large blocks of wood and foam. Also, the new doors have all expanded. Doors 1 has warped and won’t open. Doors 2, 3 and 4 have warped and won’t shut. L A Carpentry did not always use the materials I specified and included softwood in areas which I told them

  Assembling flat pack wardrobe.

  Was pleased with overall work completed. when he left property it was noted he had not secured drawers to runners. Carpenter punctual, pleasant cleaned up after self.Main down side - job did not cost what I was originally quoted £160. Told on day if paying by card it would be with 20% VAT, Carpenter had option of using off street parking on drive or purchase parking permission ticket from machine at end of road. He chose neither option and allegedly reported receiving parking fine to which he charged me for. No proof received upon my request to carpenter or company.

  Honestly the best workmanship from these gentlemen. They were thorough, explained the process and were professional. I definitely will be using this company again in the near future 🙂
