An engineer came to my house to assess a puddle of water I had in the kitchen and said they had to drill into my waste pipe outside and put a camera in it to assess the damage. After doing this the engineer said he couldn't see anything there and suggested I spend over £1,000 to drill into the kitchen floor so he could investigate further as he couldn't find the source of the leak. Two days later a plumber from another company came to look, and simply tightened the pipes. Now the external waste pipe the KD Drainage engineer drilled into is leaking and they are refusing to fix it. Stay away.
Response from Kent Drainage Ltd
The works were competed over 12 months ago with no issue up to this point. The job was initially passed to us a blocked kitchen drain, which we cleared, customer was happy, whilst on site customer raised concerns of water found seeping through kitchen floor tiles. On closer inspection the grouting around some tiles has corroded away and evidence of moister can be seen. Unable to find manhole within the property and due to concerns of a possible blocked and buried manhole under kitchen tiles, Access was made into Svp via a PIP kit (no extra charge) for cctv inspection to be carried out to investigate further. CCTV show’s all drainage to be in free-flowing condition and for this property not to have a manhole chamber within its boundary. Access made was sealed with band seal to which has been watertight since the works were completed, a band seal is a rubber connecter that’s tightened using metal jubilee clips, the customer is saying this is now leaking, the jubilee clips do not come lose on their own, for it to be 12 months later, this clearly indicates someone else has tampered with it.
