Initial site survey was professional with a reasonable quote provided. Once on site, there were significant, unexpected price escalations, so the final price came in nearly double the original (even though JVB had surveyed before quoting). JVB seemed unwilling to engage on explaining this - their response was "well, you accepted the quote". This was correct, but I felt I had no choice as my driveway was already half dug up! The building supervisor declined to meet me on site to discuss my dissatisfaction. The work was completed to a good standard, but the experience was disappointing.

The project was to repair bad workmanship by other contractors causing internal water damage. During the course of the project the client always indicated they were very happy with the standard of work and site/office communication. All work was explained to the client before work started. The initial survey was a non intrusive free survey, with best and worst cases explained. When the work started and the full issue was exposed, we were then able to issue a comprehensive breakdown of the work required and exact cost, which the client approved so work progressed. Client supply items were delivered incorrectly which caused a few delays but no additional charges were made for this.
We are happy that this was a successful project, delivered inline with the approved estimate and timescales, with no unexplained additional charges.
