JDS Locks

Hi There I am Scott Glover the owner of JDS Locks and I have been a locksmith for over 15 years, I trained with the Institute of certified locksmiths and gained an advanced locksmith qualification. I run JDS Locks from home along with my wife Karen. I cover Epsom, Tadworth, Banstead and all surrounding areas.

What makes me different from other locksmiths out there? Firstly I think it is extremely important for all my customers past, present or future to never feel that they are being pressured into a "sale", I always try to take as much information as possible to see if there is an alternative solution. For example; You may be locked in and need to have your door opened, but its Saturday and weekend rates are usually a little more expensive. I would ask you if you had another way to get out and maybe wait till Monday when my rates are cheaper, I never want my customers to feel worried about being 'ripped off'. I have had lots of experience where a customer has been charged extortionate prices, and been told that they need unnecessary works carried out.

What do I charge? Some locksmiths charge an emergency call out fee, I will never charge this, I have a flat hourly weekday rate, and a flat hourly weekend rate. All parts are charged on top. I will always be upfront about the cost to yourself and I always explain fully what I am charging for, no hidden costs!

What about the cost of any materials needed? The cost varies depending on brand and product I always carry a range of different brands from Union to Era, and even high security locks like ABS. Once again I will always make you fully aware of the cost and will never go ahead with any works that you do not want.

What if you don't have what is needed to do the job? I always stock a range of locks, handles and other security products, but if I don't have what you need on the van, I will go to my suppliers the same day if during office hours and collect the parts if they are in stock. If they are not available, I will make an appointment to come back and finish the works at your convenience. It is unusual for stock not to be available but I will always make sure your property is secure before leaving site.

Do you guarantee your work? Yes I guarantee my workmanship and parts for a year as long as you keep the original receipt to show works carried out.
